Mummified Fairy Preorder Deposit

ATTENTION This listing is only the preorder deposit amount for a custom mummified Fairy, Pixie, or Framed Fae. Please read all of the following information BEFORE purchasing. If you purchase this listing without reading and then decide you no longer wish to proceed with the ordering process, I will be unable to refund your deposit.
Fairies start at $250, plus wing price (and dome size up-charge if applicable).
Pixies are $200 (plus dome size up-charge if applicable).
Framed Fae start at $200, plus wing price.
Deposits are non-refundable, and will not be returned if I am unable to reach you for any reason, or you decide you do not wish to proceed with the custom process. So once again, PLEASE make sure you enter an email you can be reached at. Deposits do count towards the total amount.
The Process:
Once you have purchased this deposit listing, I will contact you regarding the details of your custom piece, so please make sure the email you enter at checkout is one that you check frequently. If you do not respond to the initial email, I will attempt once more, one week later. I will not attempt contact once the allotted two weeks has passed if I have not received a response, so please be sure you respond to the initial email.
After contacting you, I will allow two weeks for the discussion and confirmation of wings for your piece, after which I will send you a secondary listing for the remainder of your total and your mailing address for shipment.
Once your piece is finished, I will send photos for confirmation, and then ship your piece out to the address you provided.
Please note that it can take a month or more to complete a custom piece* so be sure to let me know if you need one within a specific timeframe. A limited number of rush orders are available, but rushing your order will incur an additional cost of $100 added to the final price, as it forces me to stop work on other pieces, and put in extra hours of intensive work in order to finish yours on time.

*Production time includes sourcing wings, which can potentially take several weeks to arrive, depending on my supplier. If yours is a rush order, we will discuss how quickly I can source the wings you prefer for your piece.

All fairies are cast in resin from a hand-scuplted original, and then carefully painted to resemble a naturally mummified creature. It is finally given real insect wings* and mounted under a glass dome to keep it protected. The domes are affixed to either wood or brass bases, ensuring the fairy and its wings are protected.
*All insects used in these sculptures are ethically sourced, mostly from ecologically friendly farms, where they live out a natural lifespan. None are wild-caught or killed prematurely. For more information, please see my FAQ regarding where I source the insect wings.

I take great care with the packaging of my fairies, but if anything happens to them during shipping, please contact me immediately. I will either replace the piece, or offer a full or partial refund, depending on the circumstances and at the buyer’s discretion.

Fairies and pixies come in a variety of sized domes.
Fairies:
With few exceptions*, the glass dome measures 11.5” tall and 6”-7” wide. The fairy inside measures about 4” tall, with wingspans between 3” and 5”.
Pixies:
The glass domes for pixies measure about 7” tall and 4” wide. The pixie inside measures about 2” tall, with wingspans between 1” and 3”.
*On occasion, I will offer larger domes for either a single fairy with very large wings, or multiple individuals. These domes are a nearly 13” tall with the base, and about 9” wide. A single fairy that would be housed in these domes would have a wingspa measuring between 6” and 14”.

Very little care is necessary for these fairies; just a bit of dusting as needed. Insect wings will start to fade in the sun, however, so if you want to keep them vibrant, keep them out of direct sunlight. Also, try to keep any with wood bases away from moisture, as it may cause warping. Should the dome ever need to be removed for any reason, please contact me for further instructions.
